Notes Graph, Inbox AI, and Git Sync
Voice Inbox AI 2.0 — our biggest release: a visual notes graph, inbox-wide AI chat, GitHub and GitLab sync, WhisperKit on iOS and redesigned Inbox.
We released Voice Inbox AI 2.0 — our largest update since launch. We rebuilt how you see connections between ideas, talk to AI, and keep notes — on device, in the cloud, and in your own Git repository.
Voice Inbox started as “record voice → get transcript and tasks.” 2.0 answers the next question: what do you do when you have dozens or hundreds of notes? How do you find the link between a meeting from three months ago and an idea from last week? How do you ask AI about your whole archive, not just one recording?
What's new in this release
🕸️ Notes Graph — a map of links between notes
Notes rarely live in isolation. One idea points to a meeting, a meeting to a task, a task to another recording.
Notes Graph shows that network visually:
- interactive 2D graph with pinch/pan and a minimap;
- 3D mode with clustering — helpful when you have many nodes;
- filters — archive, completed tasks, connection types;
- saved layouts — return to a view that works for you;
- export — share a snapshot or save it for a presentation.
The graph is built from links you already create between notes. It helps you find context that gets lost in a long list.
💬 Inbox Ask AI — one question, your whole library
Ask AI used to work in the context of a single recording: transcript, summary, tasks. In 2.0, Inbox Ask AI is a chat grounded in your entire inbox.
Example questions:
- “What tasks did I keep pushing to this week?”
- “What did I discuss with client X over the last month?”
- “Pull talking points on topic Y from all my notes”
AI finds relevant records, pulls context, and answers in a conversation. Per-note Ask AI is also more flexible: model selection, richer markdown answers, and suggestions.
Cloud mode still requires your consent; private on-device AI remains available where enabled.
🔗 GitHub & GitLab sync — your notes in your Git (Pro)
For Pro subscribers — one of the most requested features: note sync with GitHub and GitLab.
What goes to the repository:
- markdown note files and metadata;
- folder structure and graph layout;
- no audio — text and organization only.
How it works:
- OAuth Device Flow — sign in without typing a password in the app;
- token stored in Keychain on device;
- requests go directly to GitHub/GitLab, not through Voice Inbox servers;
- each sync is a separate commit — restore any version from history.
Plus full Backup & Restore in Settings: a ZIP archive of your database for a new device or peace of mind.
🎙️ Transcription: WhisperKit on iOS
On iPhone and iPad, on-device transcription got a meaningful upgrade with WhisperKit and the Neural Engine where available.
Also in 2.0:
- transcription quality mode;
- VAD — silence trimming for cleaner text;
- interrupted transcription recovery — pick up where you left off;
- custom vocabulary for names and terms.
📥 An inbox that stays out of your way
The note list was redesigned end to end:
- new cards with animations and quick actions;
- swipes — archive, delete, pin;
- batch selection — archive, export, or process several records at once;
- rename and delete from the list;
- AI auto-organize — suggested folder layout with your confirmation.
✅ Tasks: from a list to a system
The All Tasks screen is now a real workflow tool:
- filters and calendar metrics;
- pinning important tasks;
- deadlines with notifications;
- outcome marking when you finish;
- graph integration — see which note a task came from.
For meetings — participant counting and improved role-based dialogue in Pro.
🔒 Privacy and control
2.0 doubles down on what Voice Inbox is known for — offline-first and transparency:
- App Lock — PIN when opening the app;
- explicit cloud AI consent before data leaves the device;
- AI usage history export in Settings;
- clearer iCloud handling when cloud storage is unavailable.
Audio still stays on device. The cloud is optional for AI and sync — not a requirement.
✨ More in 2.0
- Text notes — improved markdown editor and rendering;
- Public sharing — publish a note by link (no audio);
- In-app events — news and announcements in the app;
- Haptics — adjustable intensity, shake-to-record;
- Live Activity on iOS — recording and downloads on the Lock Screen.
